Always a joy

It’s always a joy to photograph this family. They are near and dear to my heart. It’s been such a pleasure to photograph them over the last 10 plus years. It’s amazing to watch little newborns grow into girls into young woman. I enjoy seeing the way they interact and each of their special traits arise. They are truly a special family and so glad we went on an adventure around Kansas City to capture them.

Authentic

When I think of my interactions with this family I immediately think of authentic. Even though it’s been a while since I have seen them they remain steadfast to that very word. I got to sneak a few family photos before we focused on Mateo. That last time I photographed him was 8 years ago. He was just as respectful, quiet and assured as I remembered him to be. He choose a few of his favorite locations in Kansas City to be photograph at. I also happen to love those places so it worked out well. He even showed me of a hidden bridge I was unaware of and fell in love with. It was a such a great session with such an authentic, kind and handsome young man.

Excuse

I love a good excuse to see this family. Hard to believe their little guy is already a year old! What an honor to get a few hours to peer into a great family and capture them being them. It’s moments like capturing Gus’ first step and the priceless look on his mama’s face that make my job awesome. I also love this family gives me the license to be artistic and try new ideas and techniques. Pretty much they are amazing clients and I am so glad they are mine!

To See Her This Way

About 12 years ago I meet for the first time this vibrant, tell it how it is, full of laughter lady.  She became my sister-in-law a year later.  She is till all those things but now she is also in love.  It is so much fun to see her this way.  To watch her trust and give herself to Terrill is precious.  It does my heart well to see the glow and demonstrations of satisfaction and contentment.  It was my privilege to capture their sweet love.

So much fun

I had so much fun doing Kailey’s senior portraits.  She is so easy going.  I particular liked she got my communication.  I could say a simple word like “whimsical” and she would go in a perfect pose. I have also failed to mention that she has such a striking beauty, not only on the outside but evident on the inside as well.   She braved some chilly weather to get some amazing photographs that I hope encapsulates all that Kailey is.  It was definitely a fun session to be apart of!

An Adventure at Union Station

I had a great session full of adventure with Lilly and Layla.  We went to the Union Station which was full of awesome photography opportunities.  We had several clothing changes that added to the fun of different styles and different looks.  Their mom gave me permission to do whatever I wanted to do which allowed me to push myself creatively and do things I might not otherwise do.  The girls were great sports and we were able to capture some timeless photographs.
