Always a joy

It’s always a joy to photograph this family. They are near and dear to my heart. It’s been such a pleasure to photograph them over the last 10 plus years. It’s amazing to watch little newborns grow into girls into young woman. I enjoy seeing the way they interact and each of their special traits arise. They are truly a special family and so glad we went on an adventure around Kansas City to capture them.

Back where it all began

I love when I have clients that suggest fun locations. I can always count on that with Krissie and Travis. This time they decided to go back to the site of their engagement photos. Somehow 10 years has slipped through our fingers and we adventured there again. It was fun to look back and recreate some of their same poses and include their 2 children. It was a gorgeous day and we had fun reminiscing. I always enjoy capturing this family and hope I have the chance to for the next 10 years as well!

Last Two

I absolutely love becoming a families goto photographer. I love watching kids grow up to adults. I love getting to apart of a families milestones. This family is pretty dear to my heart and I can hardly believe it was time for the last two kids to be ready for senior photos. I first meet the twins when they were very young. It reminds me how quickly time really does pass. Our session allowed me to wander Kansas City which always makes my heart happy. They introduced me to some new hot spots and we went to some good oldies. It was a fun morning capturing what makes these two who they are.

An Heirloom

I had the chance to dust off my camera after quarantine and photograph this lovely family. The dress the little girl is wearing is a family heirloom. It was made by her great-great grandmother for her great grandmother. Each little girl in the family has been photograph in this dress and the photos are displayed beautifully in her great grandma’s house. What a fantastic tradition and an honor to have my photo hung to continue the gallery.

Growing Up

I have been able to photograph Ava for all of her 12 years. I absolutely love getting to watch her grow up in my lens. This session we decided to return to a park we used when she was much younger. It was fun to pose her in a similar spot and way to have a comparison. She is growing into a beautiful young lady who is as sweet as can be. I often see her in my mind much more the little girl when we first photograph here rather then realizing the young woman she is becoming. Either way I love photographing her!

Deployment

This family is preparing for something I am not sure I could prepare for. They are preparing for life without their dad for a year. He is bravely defending our country in the Army as he is deployed. It was an honor and a privilege to photograph their family and allow them to have a moment captured to hold on to as they are away from each other. It’s a joint effort of sacrifice and willingness to give to our country by the whole family. What an honor it is to know them. Will you join me in praying for the Smith family this year as they serve our country?

6 months already?

When Ava’s mommy asked about 6 month session all I could think is 6 months already? I only need to photograph a newborn then her 6 months session to be reminded time is like sand slipping through our fingers. I adore this stage. When they wobble sitting up, find their feet and are full of drool. Ava’s eyes are nothing less then captivating! I always adore a curtly hair girl as well. Ave is just adorable and I am excited about the images we captured even if I don’t believe she could be this old already!

Precious Baby Boy

I was so happy when I got the call asking to photograph Maverick. He was the best little newborn model. He was awake just enough and in deep sleep when we needed him to be. He was content and sweet. We even got to move somethings around to document him being a Christmas baby. I love the smell, tininess, and how simply precious newborns are and Maverick was not exception!

Well Kept Secret

This session has been months in the making. However it was a surprise gift for Christmas to Sharon and John. It was so hard knowing the sweet gift they were being given and not say a word about it when I would see them. However we pulled it off! This family is so easy to love! They are full of grace, laughs and caring spirits. It was fun to watch the interaction of only an extended family provides. It was such a privilege to capture this family and give them photographs to cherish.

A New Union

This session was so fun.  It was to celebrate an engagement and the new union of this family from the engagement. I loved seeing how the kids already love Trey so much.  I also enjoyed capturing Kytrell and Trey as the newness of the engagement brings giggles, sparks and expression of love. What a precious family to get in front of my camera.
