I love the excitement and anticipation that a little one brings, especially when it’s the first bay to join a family. This little boy is no exception. His mommy and daddy are busy preparing the nursery (which sounds like it will be awesome), picking out outfits, buying all the essentials all in preparing to hold this sweet boy for the first time. It’s a pleasure to get to document his journey starting with growing in his mama.

I photographed Jenny’s wedding almost 4 years ago. It’s amazing how quickly ones life is filled with marriage and children. Jenny moved to Arkansas but I have kept in touch with her via her mom. It was great that we could work out a session when she was back in town for a visit. She has two sweet little ones that are close in age, they keep her very busy but just as richly blessed!
When photographing two active boys under 3 cloud covering can be a photographers best friend. The weather even though cloudy was perfect for our session. It allowed me to photograph these two adorable boys where ever they felt like going. I love this freedom because I get to photograph them being themselves. William and Issac kept me on my toes but it was so much fun to watch them both interact with their mom and dad. This is a truly loving family. Such a privilege to get to photograph this family again, especially on a cloudy day.
I had a great session full of adventure with Lilly and Layla. We went to the Union Station which was full of awesome photography opportunities. We had several clothing changes that added to the fun of different styles and different looks. Their mom gave me permission to do whatever I wanted to do which allowed me to push myself creatively and do things I might not otherwise do. The girls were great sports and we were able to capture some timeless photographs.
I have taken a few months off but for good reason. We welcomed our son Nehemiah Colin on November 17, 2010. He is a sweet little boy. Alea has adjusted to being a big sister beautifully! He is a serious little guy. While he was a wake he sported raised eyebrows and often gave me a frown. His two sisters adore him and are so good with him. I loved watching Evan do everything in his power to find his daddy whenever he spoke. This little man is much loved and adorable!

This family was a complete circle. It was sweet to watch how much Shawna loves her baby sister Elsa. Caleb never let big brother Coleman get very far from his sight. The admiration in Coleman’s eyes for his daddy was more then evident. Mom kept it all working, following and coordinated. I am not naive enough to believe it’s always this smooth but for our beautiful fall session you could see how they are a complete family that loves each other and makes it work. It was a joy to photograph them.
This family is anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby #3. They have chosen not to find out what they are having (something I am more then partial to). The girls had such a great time telling me what names the baby should have. They definitely love this little one already. It was a lot of fun to capture this family of four as they anticipate becoming five. I am also excited to get to photograph him or her as a newborn. It won’t be long!
