Teagan and Tristen were a dream to work with. They are beautiful girls that really enjoyed being in front of the camera. I had no need to pose them, they were turning this way and that and giving me just that right look. Their parents didn’t do too bad either. It made for a fun afternoon of photography.
Cuties
Emma and Gracie are cuties! Gracie was not so sure about me at first. She didn’t want to be out of arms reach of her mom so we started with Emma. Emma was great! She loved posing and knew just the right look to give me. When it came to Gracie’s turn she quickly decided I could be her friend because I had gum. We were able to capture great images of both girls and even a few together.
Almost 40 years!
Necia and Stan are on the verge of 40 years of marriage. I find that so remarkable and encouraging. They still make each other smile, I think that might be one of their secrets. I was also impressed as they shared with me that their weekend project was to replace the floor in the play house they have on their farm. What a neat memory many children that they touch will have in that play house.
A woman of substance
The moment I met Suzanne I knew I liked her. After spending the weekend in Dysart, the fact she was a woman of substance was confirmed over and over again. I know she has been a valuable friend to my brother and sister-in-law. It warms my heart to know that they have that love and support. Her children only further confirmed her character. They were charming, polite and not to mention crazy photogenic!
Hudson
Hudson is my “nephew’ by default, his mother is one of my closest, dearest friends. I was able to photograph Hudson the day before he was born in his mommy’s tummy and have been anxious to photograph him again. It’s hard to believe that he has already turned 2, and that it took me this long to get a session in. That is what I get for living so far away. It seems like time has been a flash since his birth. I am so glad I get to be in his life in any amount and am looking forward to seeing the man he will become years from now. I am sure he’ll get use to Aunt Heather snapping away the photos as well.
Adoption
Adoption is something I believe very strongly in. I think it’s an amazing thing. It’s a wonder how a child who needs a family finds a loving family to take them in. An adoption is taking place in our family. My brother and sister in law are anxiously awaiting the news about their little one or little ones in Rwanda. I had the opportunity to raise money toward their adoption a few weeks ago. I did 8 sessions in 2 days. All the session fees went toward their adoption which will likely pay for the plane trip home. I wanted to thank each of the families that participated. We had amazing weather and a each session went so well. Check back in the next two weeks for sneak peaks from the awesome sessions we had.
The English Family
I also had the opportunity to photograph the entire English family in our session. They are a great family. Little Mr. Eli got so tuckered out from his individual session that he couldn’t keep his eyes open for the family photos. He was content to snuggle up to his mama and sleep. He awoke just in enough time to have a few photographs taken with his brothers. I also was able to capture a few of just Erin and John. They just celebrated their tenth anniversary this year. I enjoy seeing a couple that no only takes the job of raising their kids seriously but also cultivating their relationship as well.
English Boys
The English boys are made up of Drew, Jack & Eli. We had the perfect day to do a photography session. The boys were great to work with. I enjoyed hearing about Drew’s interest in reading and watch him being such a great big brother. Jack is an aspiring soccer player, and will keep you on your toes. Eli loved the grass and you can’t help but fall in love with those baby blue eyes. I enjoyed watching the boys interact with each other. They love each other dearly and got along so well. What a testimony to how their partents are rasing them. I really enjoyed our time together.
New life
Typically when I have the oppourunity to photograph new life it’s a newborn baby human, however last week I was priveleged to see a newborn baby cow. The baby cow was only two hours old. I was able to observe the new little guy at Deanna Rose, a local park in Kansas City. It was so neat to watch the mom take care of her young. The baby cow was trying to find his bearnings and was stumbling trying to walk. It was an amazing sight to see.
The Richardson Family
I had the honor of photographing the Richardson family. This is an amazing family! Marcy enbodies what I strive to be as a mother. She demonstrates love and compassion with the perfect mix of correction with Miss Lilly. Lilly adores her daddy and lite up at the sight of him. It was a privilege to capture a few moments in this family’s life.
