One thing I love about photographs is words are often spoken through them. I can easily imagine what this series of picture would have said in the 1940’s at Union Station. I would love to hear your story that these photographs inspire, the best story will receive a gift. Happy story telling!

An Adventure at Union Station
I had a great session full of adventure with Lilly and Layla. We went to the Union Station which was full of awesome photography opportunities. We had several clothing changes that added to the fun of different styles and different looks. Their mom gave me permission to do whatever I wanted to do which allowed me to push myself creatively and do things I might not otherwise do. The girls were great sports and we were able to capture some timeless photographs.
Our New Addition
I have taken a few months off but for good reason. We welcomed our son Nehemiah Colin on November 17, 2010. He is a sweet little boy. Alea has adjusted to being a big sister beautifully! I thought you might like to get a peak at him. I am looking forward to getting back working with clients and photographing the moments in your life. Hope you enjoy my little man’s newborn photos.
Anxiously awaiting
This family is anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby #3. They have chosen not to find out what they are having (something I am more then partial to). The girls had such a great time telling me what names the baby should have. They definitely love this little one already. It was a lot of fun to capture this family of four as they anticipate becoming five. I am also excited to get to photograph him or her as a newborn. It won’t be long!
Delight
Miss Eliza B has grown since our last session. http://heathernelsonphotography.wordpress.com/2009/11/06/miss-eliza-b/ She has turned one! She still has those delicious cheeks and is full of personality. She was very uncertain of walking for me, it took to the very end of the session and some solid ground to see her take off. She was a delight to photograph.
Much anticipation
Layla was a baby born with much mystery until she arrived. Her parents knew the details of her gender and her name but choose not to share those details. All of their friends and family were very anxious to hear all about the specifics. Even big sister Lilly was in the dark. She turned out to be a healthy, beautiful little girl that adds so much to this awesome family of four.
Ended with a Splash
Ava’s session went very smoothly. She knows how to work the camera with that adorable shy smile. She knows just the look to give at the right moment. She is just plain cute! The best part of Ava’s session for both her and I was the end. Her mom thought it was a great idea to let her play in the splash foundation. Ava loved getting permission to touch the very tempting water and being allowed to not only touch it but get wet! I loved it for the pure expression of 4 year old gives when getting to play in water. It made for a great ending to a fantastic session.
Entertaining
You are never sure when Lilly will break into song or have a silly little phrase come out of her mouth. She is very advanced in her verbal skills for a 2.5 year old. This makes the things she says so unperdictable. She cracks me up. I am often surprised at what she says and how even knew that word or phrase. I know she leaves her parents laughing all the time. She is entertaining to say the least and it was great fun to capture the many faces of this delightful girl.
My most difficult client turns two
By far and away Alea is my most difficult client. I think it has something to do with being her mom and her photographer. It might be that she is photographed more often then she would like. It might be the stubborn streak in her that I think she may have gotten from me. Anyway, I never look forward to my attempt to have a session with her. However, I still walk away with some photographs that will be hung up in our house and reminds me how precious this wonderful gift is to me. I can’t believe she is already two. Love that little girl, stubborn streak and all.
A Fighter
Faith decided to come into the world 9 week early. She weighed in at 3lbs and 4 oz. She was fighter from the word go. She spent 2 months in the NICU and accomplished all the things they required for her to head home. She did amazing! It’s hard to believe it’s the same baby I photograph the first day when you look at those fantastic chubby cheeks. Her parents are also fighters. They took on the difficulty of having a preemie with amazing grace and perseverance. The schedule they kept often left them weary but the love Faith felt was worth it. Faith is lucky to have such wonderful parents.
